Fresh Start Exterior Wood Primer 100 is a long oil alkyd primer that penetrates deeply into unpainted and weathered wood, creating a solid foundation for exterior topcoats. The slow-drying formula allows maximum absorption into the grain for adhesion that lasts.
Why choose it: Long oil alkyd chemistry penetrates wood fibers better than fast-dry primers. Excellent hiding and leveling smooth out rough or weathered surfaces. Mildew resistant. Can be used under latex or alkyd finish coats — your choice of topcoat chemistry.
Best for: Unpainted wood, previously painted weathered surfaces, hardboard siding. Sidewalls, trim, shutters. Exterior use only.
Key details: Exterior. Low Lustre finish. Covers 250–400 sq ft/gal. Dry to touch in 6–8 hours; recoat overnight. Mineral spirits cleanup. 273.5 g/L VOC.
Professional note: Do not thin. Apply with china bristle brush, short-nap roller, or airless spray at 1,500–2,500 PSI with .013–.017 tip. NOT for use on decks. Minimum application temperature: 50°F. Available in White, Red, Gray, and Deep Color Base.
